This is an opportunity for students to start a travel writing career straight out of college. Students must present a valid student ID and active university email address to qualify for membership.

Qualification Requirements

  • Be an established journalist and/or content creator for print or digital media platform(s), publication or CVB/DMO.
  • Create content that encompasses some element of travel or the travel experience.
  • Provide clippings, videos, blogs, photos, website URLs or other media from content published within the last 12 months.
  • Agree to and uphold the NATJA Code of Ethics.
  • New members pay $200 USD ($175 annual dues plus a $25 application fee). Renewing members pay $175 USD annually; monthly and quarterly payment plans are available.
  • If applicable, show proof of membership in BATW, IFWTWA, MTJA, PWAC, SATW, TMAC or another organization that pre-qualifies applicants.

Destination / Organization / Publication Member

Membership is open to convention and visitors bureaus, destination marketing organizations, PR agencies, cruises, airlines, properties and other travel service providers. NATJA gives organizations direct access to travel media through our newsletter and annual conference.

NATJA makes it possible to build genuine relationships with travel media—not just contacts, but long-term partners.

Qualification Requirements

  • Eligible organizations include convention and visitors bureaus, destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, PR agencies, hotels and resorts, cruise companies, tour operators, travel agencies and organizations involved in travel or travel media.
  • Each organization or company can list up to three individuals as contacts for the organization.
  • New members pay $500 USD annual dues to initiate membership. To remain in good standing, members renew at $500 USD by their anniversary date.
  • Agree to and uphold the NATJA Code of Ethics.
